About time
How do you make a timing belt too tight? The tensioner does all the work so it never gets too tight or not tight enough. Did you guys use a used tensioner or timing belt?
Sucks about your luck but glad to hear it will be up and running again soon.

The tensioner does not do all the work, look at the timing belt VFAQ diagram to understand. You have to set the tension manually using the eccentric pulley, and the tensioner is there to take up slack when the car is revving.
Brothers, next time there is a real easy test to see if the tension is correct. When you set the tension and let everything settle, see if there is any resistance in the tensioner pin. If there is any resistance the tension is wrong (and by looking at the tensioner shaft position relative to the pin hole you can tell if its too loose or tight). If the pin slides freely, you are good to go.

Brothers-- np, let me know if you need help setting the tension next time, I'd be happy to show you. Its alot easier to understand the method when you see someone do it rather than read about it. I have done so many timing belts its like tieing a shoe lace for me. Last time I messed around in that area I swapped cams, broke down & reassembled the timing belt all in about 30 mins.
I've done too many!
I've done too many!
i need some 15" rims for my slicks try find me some guys
take it to the dyno, see the numbers, once its up and running.
that is what i am going to do glen has a dyno day hopefuly on the 16th or 23rd for 2 runs for 20 dollars there is supose to be nothing but hondas there but that is ok just to see what the car does did you here what are new set up was
Dont tell no one yet..... sheesh. Its suppose to be a secret guys, remember? Wait till the car makes the numbers first, and that way, if its disappointing, no one has to know.
