The dreaded 3800 RPM hesitation is cause 90% of the time by poor ground connections between the engine, the battery, and the car. Clean or replace all the under hood ground connections. On 86 model year cars , replacing/regrounding the pressure sensor's ground wire has helped (do not re-ground a 87 or later model year). If there is still a problem after that, look at cleaning the fuel injectors and (on a N/A) that your 5th/6th ports are operating correctly.

I took that off the RX7club forum

Thanks, hopfully this is that last of the problems

Do you have pics of your car? You want a car? 89,000mi. Just needs a tranny!

<edit>
This might give you some hopes of a rebuild.

The prices in that thread are for a non-turbo engine. If you can do the work yourself, if shouldn't cost more than $700-$800 for a complete rebuild.

And another one bites the dust.

Sorry to hear about your car. But if you get a rebuild you will have a brand new engine sorta... So it should last you 100k or so.

Are you sure you got the fireing order right?

TPS can be out,Timing can be out.
Bad fuel pump?

How do you know the rear seal is bad?
(Rear seal on engine?) and they are very easy to change.

Rotary Buddha has a S4 13B n/a engine forsale.. but he wants to much money for a stripped down (missing parts) engine..
Keep in mind n/a trannies are anywhere from $50.-$100. so see what hes tring to get for that engine.

I replaced everything in the order it came out, so maybe it was off to begin with. If somebody was a diagram or something that would be helpfull. The oil is just pouring out of the hole in the bottom of the bellhousing of the tranny so Im guessing its the rear main seal that is toast.
