Tuning for an rx7
I just purchased a 93 rx7. i have quite a few mods on the stock turbos, and im getting an ECU as soon as possible. I was wondering what shops around tampa can tune the rx7, and which ones you guys would reccomend, also, does anyone know where i can get a decent deal on an Apex'i Power FC and commander, the cheapest i can find is 1,200$. thanks
Power FC = Garbage around here ...
Microtech LTX-8 is the way to go ... Scott at Mazsport in Largo can tune them , Carlos Gonzales in Orlando as well as the CFT guys ...
Power FC is ok to tune but its not a good option for hte money you spend . You can pick up a Microtech for 900 or so and then add a few hundred for tunning or get a base map and a wideband and tune it yourself ... If you have a decent idea about what your doing its not that hard ..

Scott at Mazsport does all of my work. He tunes both Microtech and Power FC, but I know he prefers Microtech. Give him a call at (727) 530-9960.
Ultimately, the ECU you choose should be based on your tuner's preference.
Actually, the LTX-8 has been superseded. The two choices for a two-rotor application are the LT8S and the LT10S. The LT10S has an on-board ignition amplifier and a few extra auxilliary inputs and outputs.

i wasnt looking to get picked apart for my choice in ecu. I just wanted to know where I can get a good tune around here.
if you want to come down to sarasota, we have tuned rx7s with the power fc's. PM me if your interested, my dad is the shop owner, and we have a lot of experience with engine management. and the power fc is a good choice for moderately modified cars, because it uses the stock harness.
