Default Mazda MX-3 Problems

I have a 95 MX-3 4cyl. I need help i will appreciate any feedback. The problem is it idles like crap, everytime i press in the clutch the car shuts off, everytime i turn the a\c on the car shuts off, its slow as hell, and gets horrible milage. I think that somehow all of these problems are linked to one solution but i havent been able to figure out what that solution is. Ive spent countless hours and many of the small paychecks that i getbut I NEED HELP!! If anyone has any ideas what the problem might be please tell me. If you want to call me my # is 813-928-7937, you can also come look at the car or i will meet you somewhere if anyone wants. Thankyou

common problem, a few causes are iac valve, 02 sensor, etc. Theres alot of shit it can be. Yea they are pretty slow stock, but then again, alot of cars are slow STOCK. If you want some balls out of it, do a swap. The bpt,b6t, or bp swap are nice and are impressive. If you wanna work on it or whatever, i'm down as long as you buy your parts. Let me know. Peace

i live in st.pete, and yea i'd have no problem looking at it. Your best bet would probably be to get a new 02 sensor and a ground wiring kit. You should be getting awesome gas mileage and if you arent most of the time, the cause can be an o2 sensor. And a ground wiring kit would help because using the a/c causes ALOT of stress on the motor and thats probably why your idle drops, due to the stress on the alternator. If it keeps going that way you'll probably have squeaky belts and shit in the future. Let me know. Peace

dont go replacing parts if you cant figure out the problem- its more trouble than its worth. try spraying brake cleaner or some type of flammable parts cleaner around your intake manifold and vacuum hoses, and see if your idle picks up. if so, isolate the problem to a specific area (i.e intake mani. gasket, leaking vacuum line, etc.) and try removing your iac and cleaning it out in a parts washer. (dont use the brake-clean b/c it can eat up the seals inside of it, and make sure to let it dry fully before re-installing it). while washing the iac, use jumper wires and a battery to cycle it and get all the grime out of it- if jumper wires and a battery arent moving it easily, you found your problem. dont forget- iac's are on a duty cycle, so they are kicking back and fourth pretty fast- just b/c its moving doesnt mean its working right.

Not that I know much... but check the idle maybe its turned down. mine was down a little low and everytime I turned the AC on the car would almost shut off. I turned it up to 750 instead of 500 an its fine 4 cyliders might need to be around 1000 RPM... I think. Also I think it could be a bad O2 sensor too.
(People let me know if any of my info is wrong, dont want to steer people in the wrong direction)

Just so you know, turning on your a/c DOES stress your alternator. I'm too lazy to type it all out, but yea, that a/c is probably not helping alot. Turn up your idle screw so that your car doesnt die, it will help and keep the car on. Take it easy. Peace

P.S. and no your 02 sensor won't make your idle die out, it'll cause more sputtering symptoms of that sort i would think.
