Oversized tires... brake failure??
Oversized tires... brake failure??
I've got a 98 Prelude, 131k miles, with wheels and tires (16x6.5 p205/50R16). I picked up a set of S2000 wheels and tires (16x7 P205/55R16 Front and 16x7.5 P225/50R16 Rear) today, but after using the tire size calculator on 1010tires.com, it turns out the diameter of the S2000 wheels w/ tires are 3.14%-3.22% bigger than the original Prelude tires.

Now, on 1010tires.com, it explains that any tire diameter size over 3% can cause your brakes to fail. Does anyone know how true that is?

Added note:
I've purchased a set of drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads for both front. Will this help or hurt my braking system?
