Syncromesh doesn't disguise it...its lubricates it better...I doubt there will be more wear by using syncromesh. I have used it for years and had no problem...trannies only got better. My last tranny I put in my civic had a 2nd 3rd and 5th grind...3 oil changes in it and 2-3 years later...shifts smooth as butter.

Magical oil isn't going to repair chipped/broken gear teeth, sorry to tell you...

obviously...i wasn't arguing that matter...the syncro's are usually worn out and the additives in those higher end oils help elongate the health of it.

How pricey is it to do the syncros??
you need the 2/3 snycro/slider/hub, Which is about $350 from honda plus installation.

Or I can just keep the car under 6 grand... its a DD anyways. Its a very small grind, and I really think the clutch has something to do with this. Im new to working on manuals, so be nice .

How can I tell if my clutch is fully engaging and if it has anything to do with this??

Im with you on this one Custom240sx, im sure this fluid will help extend the life of the tranny. I heard nothing but good stories on this stuff a while back (well GM syncromesh, which I hear is the same stuff). Its not polishing a turd. Im just trying to get every last bit of life that it can.

All the motors in our cars are going to die eventualy too, does that mean that by doing something to help extend the engines life is polish a turd??

I use synchromesh, too.

The times my tranny ground were due to me
shifting too fast..........foot not pushing down really far enough........not
very smart, considering the seconds a person saves when
speed shifting, versus the HOURS spent working to buy/fix a tranny.

Ok quick question, I think I found a pic of a b series tranny, once from a B16. I wanna change my tranny oil today, wanna make sure I do it right. I circled the two plugs I think are the drain and fill plugs... are they correct??

Im going to look up how much the tranny takes, and use my paint measuring cup to measure it out to make sure I use the right amount. But I will fill it untill it comes out of the fill hole.

Well I changed the tranny fluid in my EM1, turns out, the fucktard who filled it up, put a WHOLE gallon of fluid in it.. 4 QUARTS!!!! Filled a whole milk jug. As soon as I pulled the overfill plug it poured atleast a quart out.

Thanks to the help of Custom240SX for helping me locate a couple things, and finding a good spot to add the fluid. For those of you who didn't know, there is a spot on the tranny under the VTEC Solenoid to fill the tranny. It has a little black rubber nipple on it. Just remove the overfill plug and add fluid through that nipple untill it comes out the overflow.

Honestly, it could be all in my head, but even after 5 minutes of driving it, it feels a tad bit smoother. Im going to drive it a little bit harder tonight and see if it shifts any smoother.

Oh and another thing, I noticed my car has Neuspeed 55 20 20 F springs on it, its sits a tad bit too low, speed bumps rub at work, and tires run on corners going somewhat fast. I need it an 1/2" higher.. how whould I acheive this? Is there maybe a small spacer?
