hell yeah..your getting a timing belt, water pump and bearings. Thats over 100 bucks shipped right there. Plus you dont end up with a 7.4:1 CR in the end. Soggy power out of boost FTL.

if you have choice of a block like frodo said go a6 or z6 avoid the y8 for a build. only boost the y8 if thats all thats in your budget

You're running y8 top and bottom end though aren't you? Yours seems to be holding up, you don't think 7 or 8psi would be a problem running vitara pistons and FJ rods do you? Sounds pretty solid.. Should I try to spring for a z6 block and run the y8 head?

Considering the current Vitara record is somewhere north of 600hp, I'd say you'll be just fine with their rods and pistons.

he was more referring to running them in a y8. which has been done and has made alot of power with the right prep work, but in the end is unnecessary if you get the right engine to begin with.
