Sleeved h22 question
Those custom thick cometic gaskets can be a bit tricky to seal sometimes. I would sell it and get a golden eagle oem one. At 10:1 the pistons are flat tops and unless the piston is sticking out of the hole more than .010" you shouldn't have any contact issues.
A standard gasket is something like .027" if my memory serves me correctly and I believe a standard crown height h22a piston sits .020" to .030" below deck so the machine shop would have had to deck the block approx. 0.030 to .040" for you to even have to start worrying about that. I'd bet they decked it less than .005-.010".

Yea well its been decked like 3 times once before I brought it to the machine shop once before the sleeves and last the final deck. I think the main difference except for factory size is golden eagle copper sprays their shit so Im going to copper spray the cometic and do that pain in the ass retorqe procedure. I was going to go with GE but the machine shop and Darton themselves recommend the custom Cometic so hopefully all goes well. I also have the pistons .27 over sized so that'll make up for the little less compression i get from the thicker gasket. Again hopefully God willing everything comes out fine.

^No I dont...I havnt had time to measure it I put the old gasket on top of the block and Im almost 100% positive it will not seal with an OEM gasket I just figured I'd go with the thicker gasket to be on the safe side because Im trying to put this motor back together while working and its kind of a pain in the ass to get things done when Im pulled off every couple of minutes. Im waiting till monday for this gasket to get here and I swear it better work. Im going to copper spray it, put everything back together let it run at operating temp for a while, then take the damn timing belt back off pull the camshafts to do that pain in the ass retorqe procedure Darton says to do even though I dont want to. I want my shit to be at tip top shape so Im going with all the bullshit to get her there.
