I didnt assemble the entire car / i assembled the block and helped him bolt it up in the car then i went home . The only sealant i used was rtv gray on the oil pump and pan gasket / everything else has nothing to do with me i did the job i was requested to do ,(ASSEMBLE A SHORTBLOCK) whether the motor was clearanced and plastigauged prior to my assembly im not sure, i assumed everything was done at the machine shop thats what i was told , the motor is very tight thats the bottom line ( ive built countless amounts of motors from Chevy"s to big block fords < all still running to this day . so gather your intel properly before pointing fingers / No offense Rang but your are not the only person on the planet that builds hondas < sorry

Well I can say that Rang is good at what he does. Now as far as not plastiguageing the bearing clearances that is just foolish. Part of the builders job is to find any issues their might be. i.e. inproper rod cap on a rod mitch matched mains etc etc.....
When YOU put a motor together YOU should check everything because it is YOUR name on it. Unless you request it most of them are not going to check your rods crank etc etc. If you tell them to bore the block then thats what they do not check all your clearances etc etc.

If you want me to build the motor then bring it to me and we can work something out. you have my number. Ill stand behind it 100% and I will know what all your clearances are not assume the machine shop checked it.

Where the rings clocked when put on the pistons? You can't put them on facing the same way, or it wont hold compression.

Not hating just dont appreciate the shit talking < the motor ran fine in the beggining he put 500 miles on it without issue then it started smoking , not my fault by any means everything was done properly , i put together what parts he gave me . Nothing was backwards at all , i stand behind my work 100% also thats why i made 3 or 4 trips to his house to help him figure out the issue .Anyway , im just glad he's got his car running + 1 for chris
