honda journal sizes?
On my B20 i replaced the crank with a reman unit it came with oversized bearings. Problem is i want to know how how they knew which roman numerals are stamped on my block and on my rods? I never told them so i need the number of a reputable machine shop right?

are you drunk? i have no idea what you are asking..... please explain a little further...
There are a row of letters on the bottom of the block each letter represents the letter for the corresponding journal you match that with the numbers on the crank that is your bearing size.... for the rods you match the letters on the crank with the numbers on the rods (stamped halfway on the rod and the cap) and that is your rod bearing size.... what are you asking about your block??

man your best bet is to get a good ls or b20 crank (stock) and start with that. Those aftermarket bearings are shit. Stay with stock Honda. you could try specing a bearing set off the rod block and crank ids like stated before. Plastigauge and replace bearings that are out of spec but I think that would cost more than if you just picked up a good crank for $75-100 and ordered all new bearings off that.

... to explain a little further my block being an 88 casting has roman numerals instead of letters corresponding to the size of the holes that the main caps make with the block. Mine has two different sizes between the 5 caps 3 of one 2 of the other. the crank came with at least some of the pads that are usualy marked blank and the main bearings are all .025 oversized.

you cant get a remanufactured honda crank if they are micropolished they throw bearings easilly. the cranks are softer inside and catch the bearing and throw it. not to mention honda uses trimetal bearings and most aftermarkets are bimeteal.bi metals are much more unforgiving and it is easier to throw a bimetal bearing.
