SOHC or DOHC
Why? You can do that with a BONE STOCK b16, no need to build it. Also, to make that on the SOHC I bet you have to run a high amount of boost as well, but I have personally seen over 300whp on 9lbs of boost without problems on a conservative tune on a bone stock b16 w/ ebay kit.
DOHC>SOHC all dayyyyyyyyy
DOHC>SOHC all dayyyyyyyyy
Also wtf does it matter if you have to run more boost? If you knew a damn thing about engines, turbos, or physics youd know that boost pressure doesnt mean a damn thing when it comes to power output. CFM does. Yes the higher your boost the higher your intake charge can be but beyond that "9lbs" mean JACK SHIT. 9lbs on a 57 trim t3/t4 may make 280hp while 9 lb on a t25 may make 180. Just an example.
And yes, I was referring to a d16 built with a turbo, not just rods and pistons. You will never get 250 out of a D16 NA, and its highly unlikely youll ever see 250WHP out of a B series either.

And would cost way more. Were talking block, head, if someone doesnt have the capability of doing the engine work then it will need to be installed. Conversion kit, mounts, linkage, axles, ecu. Itll end up costing the same (at minimum) or more, and itll have the same peak power. The sohc will be quieter (NA are loud and annoying), have WAY more torque and be more reliable than a b20 (siamese sleeves) if tuned right. There are arguments either way but if you want to make over 350hp go dohc, but to make ~300 itll be cheaper to do it with a sohc.

I dunno if anyone has seen it, but if you get a chance pick up project car magazine, issue 7. They have an article on the price of a b16 swap in an EF vs a budget turbo setup on a crx. The b16 was way more expensive even without any turbo setup and even without a tune (stupid FMU) the d16 made gobs more torque and flat out destroyed the b series across the board. Now if you were to go turbo on the b16 it would make more power but also end up costing twice as much.

B16 suck dick!!! my old n/a single cam beat them.
b16's are way over rated, only b-series id ever do is again b20z/V or GSR/typeR

well this is all really helpful and im deffinitly going sohc because i am (like most people) limited on money. but to kinda change direction, on the edelbrock turbo kit you can adjust the boost psi on that right?
