Torque wrench, assembly lube, on and on.

You don't learn how to rebuild an engine asking questions on a forum. It is a methodical process, detail and specifics being critical if you want to do it right.

Get a manual and read.

Well good luck with your build! U need alot of tools and training + experience to build an engine! Yup you could slap it all together in your yard but it wont be a well built engine! Just my .02!

When doing a rebuild on a stock motor do new rings still have to b filed or does that only apply to built motors? Sorry for the thread jack, but im also in the process of re-building my first motor. DIY FTW!!!!

rings only get filed if they need to be if its a stock motor then the bore has not been changed so the rings will match fine so you dont need to touch them

^^^ what if u are going from say a 9.1 factory piston to a forged lets say 11/1 piston then would u have to file? Im in the process of rebuilding a GSR block with high compression forged pistons and im just tryin to gain all the info possible

If useing a forged piston it will tell you the spec the ring should be. On stock u really only file if turboing

which helms manual should i start out with the service Manual??? Because they have like diffrent supplements and all that
