Does the lower radiator hose ever get hot. If not the thermostat is not opening.

You should take a reading comprehension class or something.

Thanks

or you could just listen to us because it appears that we have more experiance than you do (or you wouldnt be asking us)

if its the thermostat causing the prob. jumping it will only lead to greater harm. right now its prolly only opening part way causing it to run hotter than usual, but in a few days or so it could just jam shut and before you can look down at your gauge youll crack the block, and ill just point and laugh. its so funny when people blow their shit up because of a $5 problem. but right now you still have the chance to make to right decision and FIX IT ! ! !

What I was saying is that until I found the problem and fix it I would leave it jumped (for a day or two) I bought the thermostat yesterday. I'll replace it today.

Yes it does. They all work in relation to each other. If the sensor isnt working the car wont know its over heating. Thats why I said to just change them all inc. the thermostat.

yo i had this same problem.. it might be your temp sensor.. if that goes out then your fan wont know when your car is gettin hot and wont come on.. the fan is set on the switch to turn on when the motor gets to a certain temp and turn off after it cools to a certain temp.. i donno just a suggestion cuz i had this same problem but I replaced the temp sensor and whallaaa it went away.. anyways g/l

the ecu is "aware" of the fan being on but it does not control it. i supose if the ecu is designed to (which i dont think it is) it COULD turn it on, but it will come on whether the ecu is there or not, therefore thats not the problem. also note that there is no temp sensor in that circuit either. will you please stop spreading misinformation?

heres a diagram:

its probably your thermostat like freakasis was saying, just change that shit and dont be lazy. if it still doesnt fix it get a four prong relay and wire it to the ignition. you can make the fan come on every time you turn the key forward
