where did you get the replacement fan switch? also heat it up on the stove while measuring the continuity and see if it actually works. i bet it doesnt. basically if you can jump the wires on the switch and the fan works....the swith MUST not be switching! either cuz of a bad switch or theres not enough heat. are you sure the gauge is right? have you checked the thermostat? put the thermostat in some water on the stove and watch it as it heats up you should see it open.

If you keep having issues with it, it could be your wiring/grounds are broken/not making good contact. Buy a switch at autozone($1.50) and some wire, and wire it directly. Put the switch somewhere on your dash. Turn it on every time you drive somewhere.

All for the grand total of 2 dollars.
Enjoy

It may be your coolant temp. sensor. It tells the ecu the temp and then will send info to the fan switch. So your fan switch maybe good and the temp sensor is bad. Had a similar problem. Best bet change them all. Cost just under about 100 bucks for all of them and its worth knowing all of them are brand new.

It could be that your thermostat is stuck closed. If the the thermostat don't open the hot coolant cant touch the fan switch(sensor) causing it to turn the fan on. Change your thermostat and I'd bet everything works again. aLSO, The ecu and the gauge coolant temp sensors have NOTHING to do with the fan turning on.

^+1 I had the same issue where my fans wouldnt come on. I jumped the fan switch plug and they came on. Replaced the thermostat and problem solved only like $20 bucks from acura.
