LS vtec or GSR
I am planning on going vtec in my 92 integra, has an ls, would it be safer and/or faster to just get an LS vtec or get a GSr, i hear all these negative things about the ls vtec setup, so i thought I would ask...but which one would make more power? Which one most reliable? Bigger bang for the buck...
I had a crxc with a JDM B16 and liked it alot I was almost thinking of getting one of those but why decrease size in motor?
Advice?

Your car is already an LS so just go just make it VTEC!!
Only advice is you get what you pay for! You cant skimp on a LS/VTEC build or else you will be regreting it in a matter of days! GSR is an easier route but wont be as fast unless you planning to go boost

first of all...you already have a ls! why would you spend more money and get a gsr? unless your rich yea go ahead..anyways if i was you i would keep the ls and slap a b16 head on it.
thats because the moron you know or seen that build his doesnt know how to. to succesfully build a ls-vtec that is "reliable" you need to swichout the rods and pistons. shit alteast the rods. hope this helps.
go with the gsr because ls/vtec doesnt work
What all internally should I do to make it a reliable car still with ls vtec?
I need this to be a daily driver...
Say I put a b16 head on block what needs to be done to make this work and last like a normal honda motor...

There is nothing wrong with lsvtec motors the only problem is when in-experienced people try to put them together. I've built a few lsvtecs over the last 8 years and they all ran well. Bare minimum I would do:
Block:
-Oversized b16 pistons or ITR pistons (b16 = 11.5:1, ITR = 11:1). ITR pistons need to be machined to fit ls rods though
-New vtec oil pump and water pump, GSR timing belt
-ARP rod bolts on stock rods, resized big ends
-New properly sized bearings
-For simplicity a GE vtec conversion kit.
-New seals and gaskets throughout
Head:
-Good three angle valve job w/ proper backcuts on stock valves
-new valve seals
-mill head minimum amount for straightness
-plug vtec oil port in head mating surface
-new seals and gaskets throughout
That will give you a nice reliable setup with streetable compression and room for upgrades. I put together this same setup for a friend and the car is making about 195ish to the wheels w/ itr cams, comptech header and JG intake manifold.

i like when people don't take my advice.cause then i make more money when u need it rebuild the right way!
how many speed holes do i need in my bumper,b4 i can run 15's?

it'll all feel slow with a LS gearbox. if you want to feel faster, get a b16 or gsr box, and spend a WHOLE LOT OF TIME learning about various engine builds. it will feel sooo nice in the meantime, while you research what you want to do. a stock gsr is WAY cheaper than building your LS into a LS/VTEC properly, and you dont have to pay for the custom tuning right away- just run a p72. There are, however, many advantages to building a custom engine...you just need to engineer it right.
