LS vtec or GSR
apology accepted....rep given for the gracious act too. its not the first time someone has been a dick on this forum....its full of em. ur comment actually wanst the worst ive come across...most of the dicks on here will still stand by what they say even when 6 ppl tell them its wrong. at least u admit ur mistakes.
on another note....the only reason i know about ls vtec and transmissions is bc im in the process of puttin one together. so ive been researching for literally 6 months now trying to figure out what i want and what would be best for my budget (kinda like the guy in this thread). ive come up with this for my setup.
ditched the ls pistons and bought usdm type r pistons (11.0:1 comressionwith the gsr head i have), stock gsr cams, arp rod bolts, golden eagle head studs, ALL the bolt ons including a better intake mani and the hondata gasket for it, im re using my ls header and dizzy (u have to mod the dizzy), 65mm bored out gsr t.b., stock fuel system, b16 tranny. after its all tuned or even just chipped im lookin for 170-180 to the wheels (on stock gsr cams with cleand up ports b4 the head goes on). the big bump in compression will make sure i get the most out of my stock vtec cams b4 i upgrade (thats the first upgrade after its broken in and i get money).
point to be made about the above, ill be spending less than anyone would for the complete gsr swap, AND ill be putting down much more power. lookin for mid to high 13s on street tires in a del sol.

you may want to rethink the gsr cams, only b/c neal sutton said a few things to me about jdm b16 cams, something about their lobe timing as compared to gsr's, despite the gsr's extra 2-3 degrees of duration. I woouldnt have taken heed so much if neal hadnt said it to me.
consequently, I have jdm b16 cams in great condition with cam gears for $20

haha thanks for the offer but i still have other parts to buy b4 i go diggin into the head. the head is a complete gsr head. the only thing i plan on doin to it for now is cleanin up the ports, buying an intake manifold and hondata gasket, n slappin my cam gears on it. the next upgrade to the head, (after the motor is broken in and i save some money) will be a 2 layer head gasket and some stage 2 cams n the valve train to go with em. the gsr cams will work fine for now.
.....anyone else got any more advise for the guy who started the thread? lol this is gettin good!

the ls vtec would be good for a DD too....he doesnt even have to take the block out of the car. he can do the conversion (with replacing the selected bottom end parts) in the same amout of time it would take to do the complete gsr swap. find a place that has a lift n it would b that much easier.....
