well. three different ways.....pulling a plug and wire and grounding it on the block, putting a screw driver in the end of the wire boot, and lastly using a spark plug tester tool from my work at mercedes

i just finished my swap yesterday and had the same problem....
2 things
1 my wire harness that i got off some body rewire the distributor connector for some reason. and i stll havent fiqured out why

2 take the cap off and see where the firing order starts i know it should be 1-3-4-2 but mine actually was 4-2-1-3... when i hooked them up the backwards way and it fired right up

try this its simple and should only take a few sec...

Right on clutch switch. Forgot for a min what the orig post was here.
You can troubleshoot coil and icm grn/yellow blue/white wires, but I'd try to get my hands on a distributor just to pop it on and try it if there is one handy somewhere. If that doesn't work and you are not throwing any codes, I would say it has to be a ground somewhere

well i can see #1 being an issue.... but the number 2 would have nothing to do with wether the plugs fire or not- if you have the wires on incorrectly it would still spark - may not start up, but if it did... it would run really crappy.
