clearance issues
building a b20 vtec motor have a fresh b20 block stock specs not bored or decked at all. also have a 2000 b16 head stock specs not shaved at all.
i plan on putting 84mm 12:1 je pistons in it i also wanted to put 1mm oversized valves in it. the dome on these pistons is eqeivilant to a ctr piston dome.
you think im going to have clearance issues with the OS valves and that high of comp pistons in a b20.
im going to clay it obviously first but just wondering if any one has any input.

dont use oversized valves . if it were for boost sure but the larger valves will keep you from using cams w/ alot of overlap . big cams will be needed with high compression and valve to valve contact is close. another thing alot of people dont realize about oversized valves is that without the proper combustion chamber work the larger valves become to shrouded w/ an 81mm head.

thanks alot for the info. i probly should have added this will be an all motor/nitrous setup
if its a NOS motor then no need to go oversized. the concept of using oversized valves is to induce more air into the cyl. nitrous does that in itself. save the money of installing new seats and machine work and buy some nice ss valves and get a good valve job. just my .02$
