Bottom end... COMPLETE!!!
so after a lot of time, a lot of money, and a lot of patience, my bottom end is done...
First of all, I have to say, Engine Lab did an awesome job on everything they did to get this bottom end ready for me, and had it done right when they said they would... I also want to thank Dave (99B16SI) for his guidance and being my tech support, and also to ALPHA for letting me borrow a bunch of shit...
I know it may not be a big deal to anyone else, but this is my first time building a motor from the oil pan up, all on my own, so I am pretty happy...
Started off kinda late last night (around 10pm) and got everything together that I needed. First off, I cleaned off all the main caps and every bolt for the bottom end... Then, it was time to plastigauge main bearings... All checked out perfect, so on to the rods... Again, all good to go... So I checked the ring gaps, which surprisingly were all dead on what I wanted (.0019" top, and .0024" bottom) so there was no filing needed... Then everything was assembled and torqued down... Then the brand new type arrrrrr oil pump and water pump were installed, along with the windage tray and oil pickup... Then I just started bolting on the alternator and all the other misc stuff on the outside of the block... All thats left is the rear main seal and rear cover plate, and she will be just about ready to get dropped in... Not a bad way to waste 8 hours or so
I will keep this post updated and add pictures as the rest of the build goes along, and I may even post some pictures of it going back in the car in the next couple days...
Stay tuned

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
very very nice glad to hear goodluck with it all

Thanks everyone... It really is a good feeling to look at it and say, "I built that", but I cant even imagine how I am going to feel when it starts up, and I actually get to hear it run...
Thanks again for the kind words everyone... Pics will be up later tonight
