Bottom end... COMPLETE!!!
Bugs??? Thats the understatement of the year
Saturday..Well, the motor and everything went in and was snugged down in a couple hours thanks to Alpha, SinisterDan, and Boosted4AG... We got everything in, and then I started on some wiring, while everyone else snugged up bolts here and there, ran coolant hoses and vacuum hoses and then re-installed the engine harness... Then the problems began... First, we ran into a problem with the turbos oil fitting.... That was just a start of many headaches to come... After hitting a few snags and realizing we werent going to finish it in time to take it out for its debut at the "track", we called it a night (after many beers of course)
Sunday... Started off as smooth sailing... Replaced some missing coolant lines, and a radiator hose and started to fill the system... Then noticed a water leak in the back of the block... A friend of mine said he had the fitting i needed to fill the hole where apparently an unused sensor was missing, so we went and got it, and plugged that hole.... After that we ran into more and more problems, that were all pretty easy fixes, just VERY time consuming... After 3 trips to pep boys, and 2 trips to Napa, it was finally ready to start... So we thought... Ran into a few software related problems with a new version of UberData we were experimenting with that wasnt compatible with my maps... And we really just didnt have time, nor energy to build new maps from scratch, so Blake (Vertigo) came to the rescue, and got me back up and running...
Cranked the car over a few times to prime the new oil pump, then started her up... Started up on three cylinders, but I let it run for a bit anyway just to be sure it was making oil pressure... About 20 seconds later, BINGO... 70psi oil pressure... Then I shut it off to determine why it was only running on 3 cylinders... Found a couple small oil leaks (turbo feed, and oil pressure gauge feed) that were promptly fixed, then started investingating the problem...
We checked to be sure we had spark in all cylinders, which we did, then determined the injector in cylinder 1 was not working... switched the injectors in one and two to be sure it wasnt the injector, and still, one no worky... So weve narrowed it down to a wiring issue...
It just got too late to mess with it anymore, so tomorrow morning, its time to rewire all the injectors... I will be replacing all the clips, since one (cylinder one, go figure) is cracked, and I may replace the resistor box, just for good measure (gotta find it all at a junk yard or something first...) And that should cure the problem... I may also be acquiring the help of the wiring guru Neal Sutton (CXCivic) depending on his schedule.
Hopefully by tomorrow late afternoon, early evening, it will be running on all 4 cylinders, so I can complete the break in, and finally get to drive my baby the way she loves to be driven again...
As a side note, pics should be posted soon... I wanna thank Alpha for documenting all this process, and being my drinking buddy when it just got too stressful for me to handle sober...
Stay tuned... More updates to come tomorrow...
Thats all folks...

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.
And now togo to work with the little sleep I got this weekend
I will post pictures later today. Good stuff. If I have the time/energy to stop by after work I will. If not Tuesday.
