its so unfortunate that we are the focus of the patrol cars.
Hows the saying go? One bad egg spoils the bunch? or something like that.
Theres nothing worse then seeing a gaudy ass ricer in some POS w/ some shitty oxidized fartcan bent to the side (like that shits mandrel
) blazing through traffic like he's driving gods gift, riding 16" knock off's.
Then the rest of us have to put up with shit like our man pharaoh here

seems like everyone is getting a ticket this week... this sucks
the more I'm reading the more it looks like this is gonna be a tough win for me.... that says a cop can enforce the laws on public roads, or private roads the public has the right to use... which sounds like a mall road... I think I'm down to just the wrong statute she wrote

like i just pm kender the cops i just 5 mins ago talked to said that the cop can change the statue if they please like someone posted earlier. this sucks and the cops also said that the only way usually they pull you over for the exhaust is if they hear you, but i think thats bull.

just becaus the mall has a lane that you drive on doesn't make it a road, the rows of parking spaces aren't roads, and the lanes of travel that are right next to the curb aren't neccessarily roads either.
not only do you have that she wrote down the wrong number but you have the fact that nothing says it is illegal to have a modified muffler, just because the muffler is modified doesn't mean the polution control portion of the exhaust system is, and if she says you had a modified exhaust system how would she know, she never looked.

thats crazy though but the cops i just spoke with said they use a different statue and that it has to do with modified exhaust but i didnt get the statue number

also the cops i just spoke with said the ticket was for $73.50 and the cop that gave me the ticket wrote it for $74 does that matter?

I just run open downpipe with an Ecutout. If you see a piggie, close the cutout and route it back to a stock muffler.

hey all I just pmd this to dc2-r but this applies to pharaoh and anyone else that the cops have said its not factory so its illegal.
the cop saying that the exhaust isn't factory and thats why he wrote you up is bs there is no law that says you can not modify the muffler (and I am sure that is the only part of the exhaust he saw ), if he changes it to unsafe equipment, how was it unsafe? it worked and wasn't falling off. if he changes to noise then db test was offered but the cop refused. if he changes to tampering with polution control equipment, then what polution equipment? he never looked at the underside of the car, and a muffler is not a polution control device. also if the cop and judge say that it is illegal to have a non factory exhaust system on your car let me know cause then I may have a case to go to the federal commerce commision since the state of florida would have enacted a law that severly impacts the commerce of the businesses that sell their product in the state of florida

IF THE JACKASS NEVER GOT ON HIS FUCKING KNEES then he NEVER saw the ONLY polution control device in the exhaust system...THE CAT. a muffler, headers, and tailpipe are transporters for exhaust gas but not polution control devices. the egr could argueably be called part of the intake system since it recycles exhaust gas into the intake.

also the statute about private property states that if the roadway is privat that the owner has to have a written agreement with the enforcing authority, so check with the mall to see if they have an agreement and if not apply it to this statute.

im kind of confused on the modified exhaust not actually being a law kender, my friend got an exhaust ticket couple days after mine, and they put statute 316.293 (a)
(a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle or any other noise-abatement device of a motor vehicle operated or to be operated upon the highways of this state in such a manner that the noise emitted by the motor vehicle is above that emitted by the vehicle as originally manufactured.
