thats total bs, some pig motherfucker can write you a ticket for some stupid license plate light being out and then change it to say speeding at like 100mph in a 25. there has to be some limitation or control on what can be changed and why. as for the noise polution thing I don't think his ear is calibrated to the specific decible required by law so unless he pulled out the meter then he should back the fuck off.
Yeah i got a ticket for that shit in Lakeland i was just cruising at about 35 mph in 5th gear, not very loud at all...The cop was in the median i saw him look at me and then he pulled out and turned the lights on and pulled me and asked me if i knew i had a modified exhaust and i said yes. i told him it was legal blah blah, the cop doesnt listen, so while he was writing up the ticket a 98 looking cobra drives by with some pipes on it , it damn sure wasnt stock loud and then a harley loud as fucking shit rode by i asked the cops about the mustang and bike and he said i cant really tell when a mustang is modded it looks the same as stock, and the bike he said hard totell if they are like that from the factory some bikes are loud, the biggest bunch of bs ever i am tired of that progiling shit it has to end somewhere some how!!!!!! My dad is a cop and told me that they cant wirte a ticket ofr exhiast unless they get out a dba tester and prove that the exhaust makes more than 75 db at like 3000 rpm at 50 feet or something like that...So this dick wrote me ticket because i have acivic with a muffler on it, and while i was looking for license and reg the cop was shining his flashlight all in my car looking for drugs and shit i know it..But hey i just painted my muffler black and u cant even tell it is there, i know it is because those damn pigs see it and think hmmm young kid, civic, exhaust, street racing, maybe he has drugs.. they know we wont try to fight it or anything..Just get ur shit together and fight it, good luck i am about to do the same with mine..

remember if they try to pull shit about modified exhaust there is no such thing. the statute state you cannot remove, dismantle, or render ineffective any air polution control device or system ( unless you are replacing it with something of equal design or function), I.E. air injection system, egr, catylitic converter. since when is a muffler an air polution device???? the polutants that are entering the muffler are the same as those that are coming out, the muffler doesn't filter shit it just modifies the sound, therefore the muffler is not a polution control device or system and is not under the scrutiny of this statute.
the muffler does apply to the noise statute but where are the dba meters??? the muffler also applies to one of the other links that I listed earlier, about the fact that you have to have one, doesn't say you cant modify it ( gut the baffles) just that you have to have one.
so all this means is keep a fairly quite muffler ( gutted?) a cat ( who can tell if its gutted ) and the header and tailpipe. with that your system is legal.

all this mumbojumbo says is that cops can write tickets on public roadways or private roadways/highways that are open for public use, so depending on where you were at you may have been in a private parkinglot but not in a public or private road. this statute gives jurisdiction to cops for those areas so while it doesn't say they can't write a ticket on private non roadway areas nothing says that the CAN either. basically the state never gave them the power to ticket for traffic enforcement (with the exception of parking violations, which is where firelanes and handicap spaces come in) on private property.
