i know very little about the hondata system so if i come of as dumb i appologize. Is hondata a good idea for a single cam engine, or does it run better on the dual cams?

These speak for themselves.

I dont think I'd choose anything but hondata for anything i'd ever want to do...

i had one of the 1st hondata systems, def one of the 1st in the area (after rocky).
immediately it solved all my woes of idling and fueling my high comp cammed sc Ls. i remember my heart pounding as i approached 7k, hoping it would not hit fuel cut-off, as all the 'rechippers' of the time told me it would. i made 8400 before up shifting so as not to hit the 'stock' hondata red line at 8500. the only problem i ever had was when i knocked the plug loose to the interface box and was limited to 4k for all of the 2 minutes it took me to figure out the trbl.
at the time there were only 2 systems for honda that did not require massive wiring, new harnesses or days of labor and tuning. i have met doug from hondata, i have talked to derek many times, and many people have bought hondata systems after hearing my stories on it. they even supplied me a base map to run my blower off of, and it didn't take any bandaids to do it all. its such a simple system, and it does 4 times now what it did then. now there are other systems out on the market, and they do have thier pluses and minuses. but i would still rather use a honda ecu on my honda, and look forward to the next wave of cracks for the TSX and Element K24s.
