Well, one year later, we're back. The engine is not completely out of the civic, and taken apart. Wow, is all I can say. I never imagined the damage that was inside of that oil pan. Not only was there 2 holes in the block, and 2 more in the oil pan. The rod rotated THROUGH the main girdle, and shattered it. The piston was thrown sideways into the valves in cyl 1, and the oil/compression rings are all inside the oil pan, and inside of the pickup. This was truely a glorious destruction of a single cam.
The ongle will return. I am waiting on a block, and a head is waiting on a new body.
Anyone got a D16A6 bottom end lying around that runs?
- Destructing once cam's since 1999.
