mpfi swap runs!!!!!!
yea i got it running sunday night, lol just in time for work on monday...timing was WAY off, so she wouldnt start...ok problem #1. it is running damn rich, eats gas horribly and puffs black smoke when i get on it...and idles high. so im thinking i have a few vacuum leaks, aince i have 1 hose not hooked up to one of my sensors (nipple on the throttle body is broken off, by the way does any1 have an si throttle body for sale?) so i think thats the only problem...2 codes, 3 and 5......meaning manifold absoult pressure...better said as somethings loose or not hooked up...the swap is still fresh in my mind if any1 has questions...when i first left the driveway i nailed it in first, and you can feel a MAJOR difference in power...the car has loads of torque (for a sohc) it seems in all of my 4 gears..it was a pleasant surprise to get that big of a power increase...

so anyways i think i came to the conclusion that the sensor is my MAP sensor...which not working would most definately make me run rich...so in a nutshell, this is definately my problem right? i need to find a spare throttle body now! junkyards dont help much...can you guys tell me what other year/model cars the TB would fit into?

i tried teeing off the charcoal canister hose and conencting the map sensors hose...it took my code away, butthe car still runs the same...smakes liek ass, and today the damn thing was idling at freaking 3 grand all day...i was driving with only the clutch...i must have not tightened the throttle body down, since i removed it from the manifold to clean it before i didthe swap...maybe i have a cylivder not firing, since it sure does feel like im running on 3...car has a very similar sound at idle like i am caming....
