ls/vtec can be turbo'ed all day long as long as u tune it right. just make sure u calculate the compression ur gonna have. id try to get it somewhere between 9.5 and 10:1 and u can run 7.5 to 8 psi on it all day long. type r valvetrain can handle 8 psi stock. u can probably make around 250 on it with tuning and stuff. just be sure u watch that a/f ratio and id tune a street boost at like 5 psi so theres less stress on the motor and run like 9 on race gas at the track. just ditch the auto tranny cuz it'll break real fast with 250hp. like they were sayin tho if money isnt an issue than just build a sick motor and u wont have to worry about anything breaking. the formula for turbo honda's has been laid out a thousand times over. im sure u can run consistent 12s without sleeving the ls tho.

valvetrain has a lot to do with boost because at certain levels the valves will float and eventually break cuz the valvesprings can't handle it. definetly get stainless steel valvesprings and valves if u wanna run any kind of big boost.

ok well then go get some pistons and rods and run 17 lbs on an ls/vtec and we'll see how long the valvetrain lasts.

well if you're gonna beat the fuck out of it, no matter what you do, it won't last. we're not telling him to boost the hell out of his stock valvetrain like you are. for the power he wants to make, this can be done with a stock valvetrain, reliably. it's all in the tuning.
