Default turbo or type R?

would it be better to turbo a fully stock LS??? or to spend the extra money and swap a 01 Type R motor in and then do whatever.... the main thing is the turbo will be on an automatic LS... vs a manual type R swap with a lotta power to begin with.... thanks

Brian this is for you bro!!!!

i'd do turbo, lots more room for expansion and upgrades. the C5 already flows like a mother, it'd be really hard to harness anymore power out of it without spending some serious $$$$. just my .02

Turbo that GS and be done with it...Run something like the Greddy Kit with Intercooler at like 12psi and your friend will love his car...Use a Tranny Cooler for sure as your Auto Tranny will take a whole lot of abuse and the internal parts are easier to be damaged due the increase in heat...

swap in a gsr manual tranny and go turbo. the ls has such good torque and it'll make good top end too. type r's make u wait too long before u go anywhere and they're so damn expensive. ive seen ls's with pistons and rods make 239+ to the wheels. try gettin that all motor and driveablility is gonna go down. u cant match boost. either way ditch the auto.
