no flex fuel vehicles are fitted with electronics that changes the tune depending on which gas you run.

We've been running ethanol in gas for 30 years, any modern car can handle the ethanol, its the tuning that needs to be done.

we've been running 10% ethanol, theres a bit of increase in concentration when you go to 85% ethanol.

They first introduced the ethanol to fuel in the 70's and people ran into issues then. since then most cars have fuel systems to handle the corrisiveness of E-10.

sure flex fuel cars are built to work with E85 but their fuel systems are no diff from their normal counterparts, its all in the tune.

the thing with E85 is that is has about a 105 octane rating...meaning higher flash point. thats why you see poorer gas mileage from it with these flex fuel cars that are made to run on 87. if you switch from 87 to 93 you will notice a drop in mpg aswell. that is probably the biggest factor there...but for 400hp, and to run nothing but E85, i think its very possible because you can run more compression and the E85 will cool the intake charge more than gasoline will and you have more room to play with before you get detonation..would be awesome for a turbo car..

^ +1 saab I think has two of their turbo models, one on 91, one of e85, and the e85 car runs more boost, and of course has more power.

the best example is the koeniggsegg ccx, on e85 it makes over 1000hp, on 98 octane it makes 800hp

that vid is the most useless waste of bandwith. It gave NO information on anything that matterd. I can go and say my integra makes 500 hp and gets 50 mpg also, back it up bitch!

Is it me or does it sound a little crazy to say that he is getting 500 hp and 100 mpg?
