Default LT1 help needed

Im guessing my clutch may have gone out , but the clutch only has 3-4k miles on it.

a few days ago i was just cruising around and it felt like my floor mat was stuck under the clutch, looked down and it wasnt. the next day started it up backed it out and everytime i went to release the clutch it felt like it would stick, but just at the last inch or so. Come 930 or so i went to blockbuster and when i started the car loud grinding was coming from the front of the car like two pieces of metal were rubbing.

what would cause this? my hydrolics? slave cylinder? whole new clutch?

also its a 95 camaro

will rep any help

Does it only do it when the engine is running and you push on the clutch ?

More than likely your clutch fork pivot bolt backed out, someone didnt put threadlocker on it. When it backs out the clutch fork can rub elbows with the pressure plate, starts a little only when you push the clutch, gets worse, then its enough to stall the engine, and keep you from restarting when you push the clutch it locks the plate still and the engine wont turn over.

yes yes yes that sounds exactly right , it made the noise then made it worse when i push the clutch in. the engine was having a hard time starting the last time i did it.

well looks like im dropping the tranny.. how difficult would this be with limited knowledge and limited tools?

First if his clutch was replaced 3-4k ago, the t/o bearing is just a waste of money, not to mention i'm pretty sure they still dont sell them seperately for LT1-T56 clutches, and the slave why bother with it because he's pulling it when its on the outside and easily replaced.

The majority of what you need is: 14 & 15mm sockets, 3/8 drive ratchet, and quite a bit of extensions, only a few other tools required, couple other sockets and a few wrenches.
