LS1 turbo 403 1329 flywheel HP
Turbo's make good power on just about anything. The power that people are making on 4 cylinders is amazing. Add another 4 and all hell breaks loose. I'm very impressed to see that kind of power with those OEM parts. Do you think it will last a little while? Or will they just get a few passes out of it. I see alot of people make great #'s on the dyno just to say they did it. I like to over build things just to be safe.

Using those parts will save atleast $3000-$4000 dollars or more over having to go towards the aftermarketfor those parts. Making a motor like this more and more accessable to us little folks on a budget.

I am very certain Tysons Mustang motor was much cheaper than what this GM build cost. I have talked to his friend and tuning buddy and they have very little in that motor. Yes they have a $1200 block but the factory one will not hold, not their fault. Other than that they did all the work themsleves and on a very small budget. Heck I have a magzine article laying around here from a few years ago when he was only in the 9's and the article was centered more around that he had $5,000 into the whole car (including th car
) than the fact it was the first turbo blow thru that really ran good. What is amazing is he is now in the 7's with 347 cubes and is currently building a bigger motor but I can't talk about that one. Not taking away from this guys big numbers but just wanted to shed some light on what you said.
And my moods are completely centered around how you guys reply, you answer with a anus full of corn cobb you get the same in return, just remember that.
I feel that if the tune is right it should last some time. That block is very very stout. LS1 doesnt really have any inherant oiling issues. So I would think it should be able to make it a season of racing.
LS1s have been putting down good power NA and with juice for a while. The biggest reason there have been a rash of 1000+ hp turbo cars is mostly due to the release of the Big Stuff 3 engine management. It is designed around the LS1 and is completely ug and play. Uses the stock crank position sensor, drives the VERY good stock coil on plug ignition system, nd even runs the elecron auto tannies if needed. This BS3 setup was made by the Meaney brothers...who basically made every other standalone v8 sytem out there. FAST, Accel, etc. This is there latest design.
Oh...thats another item not needed....you can use the stock ignition too.

So your mood depends on us? No wonder your such an unhappy SOB. Ask the shrink for an increase in dosages....please!
As for wether or not Tysons setup was cheaper....who the hell cares. Im sure it wasnt anything outragous. But niether is this.
That wasnt the point of my post here. LS1s are making strides in HP and innovative people are doing it fairly cheap. And thats good news to me and many others.

But I do find it funny how busy a thread gets in here if I reply in it. Must be that heel nibblers syndrome again.
