http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213774

Kurt Urban again at W2W. This time is a hydraulic setup. Again...production iron block, production LS1 heads, regular old LS6 intake manifold, Good crank, good rods, Mahle pistons, the new Big Stuff 3 engine management for the LS1 and a big turbo.

Stock block, stock head castings, stock oil pump, truck coils (stock on the trucks),.... I didnt see anything high dollar except the callies stuff.

Its all run of the mill stuff...even the stand alone is only $2200. The high dollar items are the callies crank, Mahle pistons and the rods. Nothing crazy about it.

Heads were customer supplied LS1 heads. Doubt they were anything more than stage 2s...maybe a set of $1300 heads. Ls6 manifold is cheap. Really thats a run of the mill setup with a good stand alone computer and a big snail.

No crazy machine work needed. And its nice to be able to use a $500 production block, $150 head castings that are ported, and a very availabe LS6 intake for $325.... that takes a big bite out of final cost.

Oh man I hope they do some custom turbo headers for it. I bet it would throw out 1500 hp then.

This is the second build that they used those truck manifolds. The other one maxed out the engine dyno at 1560 hp.

Must be something to those manifolds.

I am thinking you could do an iron 402, with eagle rotating assy, LS6 intake, truck manifolds etc, and shoot for right around 1000 fly wheel hp for a decent budget.

I need to do this next.
