Did he remove the cats? I just want to see if there is someone local who can fab up an offroad y-pipe for a '97 Z28, without giving me the "it's illegal" hassle. I don't want to spend $200.00 on a Stainless Works ORP from Summit when someone local can do it cheaper.

I agree, that if u go with true duals, no cats and race only mufflers, its gonna make the car feel totally differnt, but thats exactly what I wanted! I wanted it to feel like a race car! when i want a quiet comfortable ride, I drive my Cherokee!

 

yeah heres what i have so far.. i need headers.. duh, so im gonna go with either dynomax or hooker (open to suggestions). im gonna get an x pipe somewhere and probably do some flowmaster single chambers dumped or be creative and try to do some custom side exhaust.. me and my imagination.. ::sigh:: so when i have all the crap im just gonna go to a shop with a picture i found online and be like make this...

I have the one chamber Flows if you want to hear them sometime. Theyre badass for a while, but it will get old and you get tired of people yelling at you to slow down when youre already doing the speed limit because the cars so loud.. lol

 

lol yeah my friend has them on his mustang and they sound badass on 5.0 L so i figured it probably only gets better with 5.7L.. its either those or these welded mufflers i have on now.. they arent amazingly loud but i get A LOT of compliments on nice sound.. i bet they would sound good with duals instead of single

 

Carl for as much as you lobbied for Kevin i can't believe you are bashing his work now. Dan didn't want to or couldn;t wait to get the REAL X pipe and Kevin fabbed up something to make him happy for that very instant with no waiting.

It's messed up to talk about him like that. He id my mandrel bent Ypipe with pedestal mounts for my cutouts....great job and cheap.

u should see my setup header to muffler damn does the p county sheriffs hate having to come to my house ever time i start it.i will try and take pics later on.

 

I've never had scraping issues in the past.. only when I had installed cutouts did I have that problem.

Isn't resonation and the loud loud sound half the fun?? Why even bother getting exhaust if you don't want to hear it?

 

Ive seen some messed up looking shit come out of his shop lately. I had to fix my GFs catback because he welded everything together, I mean everything! and she told him not to so then he cut the I pipe in half so it could be removed Smart move. The catback I pipe was about 10" too short when I did the headers/ Y pipe since the other half was still welded to the factory Y.

Im not completely bashing him, but Im leary these days. Like I said, he did a great job on my setup and Im sure he still does great work.

I make shit smell like roses everyday. Its part of my job.
