i believe in most states its legal to drive with no hood. in WA State its legal. Officers and the laws enforce and generally concerned about safety on your car. they want to see that you are retaining a front bumper support, headlights, etc.

True story. However, in Wa state, they require that you have some sort of shroud over your cooling fan when running w/o a hood. I would assume they have a similar law/rule here. This is to protect pedestrians who may "fall into" your engine bay. I have run w/o a hood many times......Never had an issue. Of course, I was running a 67 mustang....Not some rice box crap.

it is illegal...on paper. but it's one of those laws that the cops aren't really gonna mess with unless you have things flailing in the wind. they could use it as probable cause to pull you over for other things though, fyi.

No doors is legal, otherwise 90% of Jeep owners would be sitting in piles of tickets for driving with no doors on.

It's one of those, general-catch-all-in-the-cops-opinion-things.
You might check the actual laws and test cases instaed of taking someone's word.-Bob

Nor could I. BUT I can find you the listing of all things that ARE required on a vehicle to be considered safe and road legal.. I.E. Lights, bumper (not bumper cover) etc.. And hood is not listed anywhere in there.
