Flushstance - Offset is nothing without width&drop!
Ok.. the only difference between a pro drifter and all of the tards in the Nissan forum is that the pro guy gets paid. Its not even quantifiable, its an opinion based activity as to who might be better than the next guy.

The point is, you don't like it because of whatever reason you want to insert, but don't make comments that aren't true and then expect us to all accept them. I ran stretched tires on my 199.6 inch long, 3900lb car + 3 people and luggage in it all the way to Miami and back while hitting potholes, bumps, (and a possum) w/o any problems???

No, my point is that "pro" and "drifter" in the same sentence is laughable. But beyond that, maybe we are going about this the wrong way. I would imagine that the stretching tires onto wheels too wide for the car fad came from one of the three following scenarios:
1. Said gangster idiot wanted to say "YO I GOT 11 INCH WIDE WHEELS ON MY BENZ", but didn't have the extra $236 to put the correct size tire on, so he went smaller against the tire shop's advice and bam, we have the stretch fad.
2. Said gangster idiot wanted to say "YO I GOT 10" WIDE WHEELS ON MY CIVIC", but they literally would not fit without stretching the tire and adjusting the camber to ridiculous amounts.
3. Said gangster idiot wanted to put one of his illegitimate kids to sleep in his rear wheel when he was at the car show so he needed a wide wheel with tons of dish; see #1 and #2 for details.
Its no different than the origins of hip-hop clothing, you can't steal stuff in khaki pants and a fitted shirt. But nowadays even if you aren't in the business of petty theft, wearing pants around your knees and shirts 6 sizes too big is 'cool' even though nobody knows why.

The whole reason we are all on here is our love of cars, and much in the same fashion as women, we all have our taste. You are making blanket assumptions on the use of stretched tires, low offset wheels and cars with aggressive stances. I run a slight stretch (255.35.18 on 9.5 rim), low offset (+27 rear, +12 front), a hefty amount of camber (-2.5, -1.75 r), and the car is dropped on its nuts. I drive this car every day, 60+ miles, in rain or shine. Does it hunt grooves in the rain? Yes. However, because everything has been dialed in properly, I have phenomenal steering feedback, so I know exactly what the car is doing, the instant its doing it, so its easy to control. In the dry, the car is solidly planted and the steering response/feel is incredible. I could not have gotten this kind of performance from a lesser offset set up, or from tires which were not a stretch. In the end, its personal preference. IMO, I took my s14 too far, and the car was not practical for the street in most circumstances. But the Evo tackles speed bumps and everything that comes with the rigors of daily driving with ease. Its all in the execution, but to make a blanket statement to say that everyone with stretched tires, low offset wheels, and an aggressive lowering is a dumbass, doing it for the attention (who doesnt enjoy a little neck breaking anyway?), doing it to "be like everyone else" is ignorant and also insulting to those of us who know what they are doing.
I agree with you on that part, it can be taken too far, like with most of the cars posted in this thread. But seriously man, lighten up, you sound like a grandpa lately

my blanket assumption went for the 98% of rides that look like that lexus. I commend the other 2% that can keep it clean , and proper. examples like the m3 posted a page back by rich, and your old car. Im sure you set up your new car properly as well.

I was going to just let this go because I don't feel you are being belligerent and are at least arguing your case in an adult fashion....but just a quick note, tire stretching as a fad started in Europe because of local laws prohibiting tires sticking out from the car but the desire to run wider/bigger wheels (IE Porsche wheels on VW).
On the VIP car side, it is a necessity to fit large/wider wheels and still get as low as possible. Actually, a lot of those cars that you poke fun of have had the fenders radius'd (sp.
) and then flaired and worked and still need tire stretch to fit under w/o rubbing etc. But VIP cars are not meant for the track or street racing etc etc. There are plenty of ugly iterations of all fads and tire stretch and camber isn't immune from that, but there are plenty of people that DO know what they are doing and do it well.
