Flushstance - Offset is nothing without width&drop!
if you honestly want to get into it, the stretched tires make sidewalls stiffer, which (some) drifters use to utilize the characteristics given to the tire because of it, much like when air s taken out of a tire to get sidewall growth on a launch. That is partially why some people run this kind of setup.
I will admit that I just happened to LIKE the look and stance of cars that are built like this. That's ok. It has nothing to do with being "different." Just like people get hated on for driving "rat rods" or hot rods that are under construction. Many view those as unsafe vehicles, but they get driven quite regularly by some patrons. You are just being a ridiculously thick headed person. You need to get beyond your own point of view, and respect other people's preferences enough to let them enjoy it. That, or, you just need to get over your self and realize there are flaws in every approach.
Stretched tires, okay, I'll give you that only because you will never take my personal experiences with them seriously. I know you want D.O.T. approvals, crash tests, etc. But I will say that the many people who run stretched tires daily, and on their track cars that go through tires in pairs a day can pretty much attest that their tires theoretically make them more dangerous, yet seem to do just fine. But when talking safety, running tires with less air pressure than the manufacturer recommended amount is theoretically more dangerous, but how many people do that to increase performance? Theoretically, over inflating tires makes them more dangerous as well, but how many Americans are doing that these days to increase gas mileage? On another note, I don't see how utilizing the same type of adjustable arms that many who participate in motor sports of any kind, to gain the features just to run the wheels is, in any way, more dangerous/retarded/irresponsible. These cars are not "rigged" in any way. Most of them have more technical mods than many street cars out there,
Again, these threads are for the people who enjoy them, to enjoy them. Not for people like you, who think they're style is the perfect style, or that anything you say will change their minds. If you look at any of my arguments, I haven't tried to get you to understand it, I'm just trying to get you to respect other tastes enough to let it be.
edmel-thank you. I'm glad my message actually got through to some one.

I don't conform to the trends and try to impress people by keeping up with the latest fashions of the automotive world. which is fine for people who enjoy wasting money trend after trend after trend
. I can respect peoples preferences , but I can also voice my opinion which you seem to have a problem with again . If the internet is too tough for you, you might want to get back to your car mags because these threads are for EVERYONE , who are you to tell people with opinions to leave a thread ? If everybody liked the same thing the world would be boring! I have to admit that its pretty cute edmel finally found a friend on here
Mclovin is just saying different strokes for different folks, dont bash so much if its not your style.
When you critique someone, thats cool, but to me theres never a reason to be such a dick or asshole about it.
im not found of the drifters or stetched tires, but I'm not gonna tell them what wrong and right.
its not like there doing anything to my car. and how often do you run into one of these cars anyway, fukk it who cares.

guess what driving over 100 MPH is DANGEROUS if you have a blow out or a mechanical failure, but drag racers and road racers do it all the time too....are they stupid???

you keep saying this yet guys TRACK these cars with that camber and stretch all the time??? I understand you don't like it, but please learn more before you talk shit....

and they are professional drivers not 18 year old kids who think they are andretti.
But you still haven't really proven your point as even if the were MEANT for track use, these drifters slide on the stretched tires with that much camber at speeds of as much as 100 mph and there is no problems so when done right a street car at 45 mph is nothing??
and if it ISN'T done right, then that is the argument just as any other modification can be F-ed up and hacked on. I would be more afraid for my safety when traveling alongside a car with Rota's that can shatter when hitting a pothole than a car with camber and stretch

Wow another thread that makes me throw up a little on each page, when I saw the word flush I thought we were talking about wheels and tires that fit. Don't we already have a few threads of this fad?
