I would love to see GM return to the glory years but they'll have to fire about 500 accountants first and 90% of their executive team.

How much did they profit off of each XLR (considering 90% of each is an already done Vette)? ZR1? How much did it cost to do the R&D for them?

How much of that R&D trickled down to the Cobalt SS so that it's faster than an STi on a roadcourse?

i understand the concept of the government giving them money and them firing him, but what i'm saying is that they should have never giving them the money...why should we bailout these auto companies if they are doomed to fail regardless of how much money you throw at them

lol we were just talking about that. I heard that they needed to do drastic improvments to the fuel economy with todays biggers suvs and trucks. Something about 35mpg by year 20XX. regardless Gm did not even get close to that and because of it's history with said ceo that didn't help. The president has the ability because they made and agreement again the ceo could give 2 shits because i bet he has more money then he can spend in his lifetime or whatever he has left of that lifetime . Gm also bought way to many companies from europe such as opel, renault. etc. Another problem we have is that every company has the same car with a different name for example the toyota matrix and the pontiac wibe. Same goes for the saturn models being equal to the new vovlo models ( the hatchback one ) . If you are a die hard pontiac fan then bite into the sour apple and get a fucking toyota or vovlo. We should not offer the same cars with different company stickers on them. This also bring more to the problem with Gm since gm own pontiac if i am not mistaken. Do you guys agree with the fact that our companies should not share the same exact vehicle with their compeditors? Does that even make sense? Same shit different logo? So it a toyota a gm or a gm a toyota?

The homogenization of the industry really started with GM in the late 70s. Today it's just a matter of - does this company install this item better than the next company installs the exact same item? They both install the same glove box door except one squeaks and the other doesn't. There and in service are where a company loses ground.
