Default What do you think of diesel cars?

Do you think there the wave of the future? what do you think of them overall? would you own one?

I think they are going to be the next wave of cars we see here. Fuel can be made from garbage, corn and the obvious fossil fules were using now. who knows what else they will be able to make the fuel out of.

I love them, I cant wait untill decent cars start coming out diesel over here. I drive a diesel van daily and cant believe the torque.

I would own one, will as soon as I can afford one.

I also like how quiet they can be, for instance, look at the audi r10 lemans car, all you hear is the turbo whistle. My dads van (inside is a little louder, its a work van) driving behind it though, all you hear is the whistle. Also, the audi r8 over in europe, 500 hp and 700lbtq with 25 mpg.

I've got nothing against them. If Adolf Diesel would have been a little better businessman we'd all be driving them today.

I do hope Audi opens the exhaust on their car this year at Sebring. It isn't real exciting seeing a car go by and not hearing and feeling the scream of the engine.

Marketing. It was my understanding Audi put a lot of effort into making the diesel quiet to dissuade the stigma of diesels all sounding like a 1953 Peterbuilt.

They succeeded.

Now build an exhaust we love to listen to. Like Ferrari does.

I’d love to have a bmw x5 diesel or the 5 series diesel. I’ve seen video of the 5 diesel (lightly modded) running down an M5 and getting better gas mileage. Hopefully bmw is bringing them over soon.

And if you could pull the cats and get the cars to belch black smoke like my old f250 that would be great mostly for the laugh factor (5 series with M5 looking exhaust smogging the shit out of everything behind it).

I'd rock a diesel car if more were available and diesel wasn't 30 cents or more than 87 at the pump.

Its Rudolf, Tannen.

I'd personally rock the hell out of one if I could. No cheap light rwd 5 speed diesels here though

it gets better mpg so it really equals out. The van (express 3500) towing a 5k trailer (compined weight right at 11k) gets 15mpg on average, we have had it at 17 a few times and at liek 12 a few. It seems to get better mileage driving in the city
