Ok So I apologize if perhaps i was misunderstood
Based on your posts I can tell you are young. thats OK, but I dont think a young person like yourself could put together even half the amount needed to do what you are looking to complete. You are talking about alot of money....
Its always nice to see a kid dream though...

lol I liked what you put before the edit better Corey. We aren't trying to flame you here, but you should take a little advice and do some serious research. The 2 routes you have given to "build" this car are both crazy and unrealistic.
IMO if ur going to do ANYTHING to this car, drop a LSx motor in it, and go from there, GREAT powerplant and it wont really be hard to put in the car
the 305 is a shit motor IMO, had a friend who basically built his whole car w/ a 100shot and it still only ran 14.1xx

so basically you guys are saying drop the car and leave it as it is. i still want to know your reasoning. is it because the car isnt worth it or is it because iw will never get? and if so and i do drop it what car would recomend for this to be done on, or what do you think would be better, not just for the speed but the handeling as well.
Best Route IMO is to leave the car parked in an alley unlocked (If you have full coverage). You will get more from the insurance money and buying a different starting platform. You can buy a cheap 350 Camaro with the money and build off that.
It's kinda like the old V6 Camaro thing.

and what platform should i look at then?
well if u wanta handling a big ass boat like this isent something u want to get....
but it all really depends on what you want, do u want V8 RWD? or FWD?
if you want RWD, I would go w/ a fox body mustang and drop a 4.6 whipple in it.
they can handle pretty well and you'll have plenty of power.... maybe to much
