Unhappy Ok So I apologize if perhaps i was misunderstood

But basically what i was asking with everything else aside is this: AND I AM GOING TO USE MYSELF AS AN EXAMPLE.

I have a 1992 camaro rs. it has a 305 which stok creates 170 hp. the car weighs 3100. Now i dont no about you guys, but i dont consider that fast by any means at all. so i am going to upgrade and modify it.

now i have consider this alot and there are basically 2 paths i can go.
i can tune the car meaning, keep the 305, intercool it, edlebrock heads cams lifters covers ect, do dual turbos, and change the chip to the BC4 package. (police chip)

or i can drop in a Zr-1 vette engine, and super charge it. (chevy expermented with this and called ti the collectors edition 92 camaro, only 10 produce and 9 were destroyed. its on tour with the Camaro Heritage Tour)

My point of asking the question i did, is that i know my car. i know how much torque and sway i can place into that car with out reinforcing the frame, which i dont want to do. SO MY ORIGNAL QUESTION WAS WHEN FACED WITH THESE TO DIFFERENT PATHS WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS CHOOSE ON YOUR CARS AND WHY?

i dont think the "police chip" will have the best timing maps for a turbocharged car, nor would it have enough fuel, as the computer is still tuned for naturally aspirated. Kaboom.

its not as easy as you're making this sound. Have you done this before? You're glazing over a lot...

i personally have not but my friend who i am working with has done this 3 times to the f-body cars of these years (1982-1992) and yes i am glazing it over simply because i am not looking for help on the process that i can do, just waht personally people would choose in this or any other similar case. as far as the police chip, your right it wouldn't, but it wass an example as i dont have the outlines here at work.

lol do a Zr1 motor

thats gunna cost ya about 10x more than ur car is worth for just the motor, thats not even including the custom work you'll need

so your telling us that the ZR1 motor has been around since 92? but it was never put it another car besides those 10?

well i guess the depends on how i obtain one. either way i havre come to the conclusion that i am going to keep the car. so cost is not an issue.

as far as the history of the Zr-1 vette and the engine within in it i dont know. but i do know that gm was contemplating puttin it in the camaro in 92 and doing a collectors edition they were also going to use the vette 6 speed tranny too
