I wouldnt have expected much of a job for $225, but that is horrible. To do it right that is a $500-600 job.

The shop owner had left when I posted this thread - I'm at work now. I'm headed back there on my way home and hopefully the owner doesn't dodge me. I will resolve it one way or another.

I will post the shop name when I have resolved all issues with them.

Well seeing as I brought a tape recorder with me when I picked up the car, I have proof his painter refused to complete the job, and I have proof he admits it was a sub par job. I just didn't know how bad it was till I got it clean.

I would hate to go to court over something as silly as a paint job, but since I only work 10hrs a week and take three classes, I really have no excuse not to if he wont settle with me.

+1 on why they wouldn't take the bumper and hood off, i imagine that'd make it easier to paint anyway, my bumper cover is like 8 screws and my hood is 4 bolts...seriously?

even if you didn't align the hood and bumper 100% perfect after i'd be OK with that so long as it was at least a halfway decent paint job...geez, that sucks man, i really hope you get this settled

225 for the hood and front bumper isent a low price... its not high or low.....

theres NO excuse for the overspray like that... I could NEVER leave a job like that and be ok with it...... I mean how do u not tape off the hood so u dont get paint in the engine bay (which he did), this shit is just plain rediculous

Takes more time to do that. and yes 225 is a low price for good material. I guess if you want to go single stage poly crystaline, thats an average price, but I would rather get my nieghbors dog to piss on my hood.

Its clearcoated so much that even the rubber parts of my bumper have been clearcoated. I'm not so much pissed about the paint job - its white and its somewhat complete so for $100 thats ok. I am upset because they improperly performed the work and in the process caused harm to other areas of my car particularly spraying my engine components, fog lights, and the strut bars.

Whether the price is high or too low is irrelevant. An auto service business entering into a service contract with a customer has a responsibility to complete their job without damaging any unrelated components of the vehicle. Even if they withdraw from the contract, their financial responsibility for the damage already caused remains.

Apparently I have a very good case.

omg man. thats fucking horrible. never seen your car before, but im positive that it looks worse now than it did before. you should demand your 100 dollars back and make them fix everything. if not then make them pay the bill for a shop that will fix their mistakes. hope everything works out for you. let us know
