What would you do? (paint job)
Alright, I took my car to a shop that will remain nameless for the time being. The painter quoted me $225 to paint my hood and bumper. He told me it would be done by the next evening. I gave him a $100 deposit on the work when I dropped off the car.
of course the next day, the car wasn't done. When I checked it out, the bumper had horrible overspray all over it (see pic) and the hood had some blemishes in the paint. I told him I couldn't accept it the way it was and he said he would fix it the next day. The next day came, and it looked as it does in the pics. The owner of the shop told me the painter was "having a bad day" and to just take the car and call it even.
I took the car, and when I got home I came to find:
- that he didn't tape off anything in the engine bay and paint mist hit everything under the hood.
- my hood struts are half painted (see pic)
- He also missed an entire edge of the top part of the hood.
- He also ruined my angel eye fog lights by spraying them with paint. (see sig)
My question are 1. Will this cost more to fix this than before with the primered hood. 2. Should I demand my $100 back for the fucked up job?

Wow, where the hell did you take it? I would take him to court if it was a legit shop and make him fix whatever he damaged. Even if you get the $100 back, you still have a fucked up hood and bumper and now have overspray on many parts.
After looking at the pics, please name the shop so people know to be careful. Otherwise people are going to keep going there and getting ripped off.

More pics of the edge of the hood, my painted fog lights, and the bottom of the bumper.
I'm going to the shop to express my concern and ask him whether he would rather give me my $100 back or let small claims court settle the matter.
I hope you'd do that. I don't think I've ever seen something that bad that was actually given to a customer.
