Why are there only 1/4 mile races.......

I'm not knocking noone, just as John said, he'd rather have a car that can do it all not just do one thing well. What sense does it makes spending a ton of money on modifying a car just to drive it straight for a few seconds.
My statement wasn't arrogant at all, the problem is you guys want to get offended because what i was mentioning is the truth. Like I said LOGIC alone would say to a sensible person that if they're spending money on a top dollar suspension, top dollar engine built for performance, lightweight components etc. you'd want your car to be a decent ALL AROUND fast machine. That's like me building a huge ass house and spending all sorts of money on furniture and such just to have one big room....it doesn't make sense
I do agree that some people just want to do the 1/4 mile and that's cool, i'm not knocking anyone who does so, but EVERYONE can't have penis-showing contests with their cars simply with 1/4 mile times......

20 mph roll ftw! Screw going out the hole! No one cares about 1/4 mile times when you still get your ass handed to you on the way home! I dont like wasting tires and buying new axles and replacing my diff twice a year!!

He's run everything from Floppers to world of outlaw and he's a pretty damn good all around driver...Some have the skill to cross over some don't. Take those that were going from Indy cars to NASCAR cars, both take similar talents but are completely different animals..
It's all about what you like. Personally I enjoy all forms, but feeling like you got shot out of a cannon is quite the rush.. not that my car was anything crazy, but it put a smile on my face..

he's right though. The S2000's differential is weak, and definitely not a drag car in any sense. I broke my diff in my s2k twice with just a few bolt ons. It's not an import vs domestic thing, it's a typical shortcoming of the car. The diff in my 240sx never broke even with 400+ hp and nearly as much torque.
