There is no argument necessary....it's stupid to race your car ONLY in quarter mile races and think your car is the shit. OK you can mash the gas pedal for a few moments and shift well, big freakin deal. Where's the rest of your driving ability that involves more than just flying down a track in a straight line.

LOGIC alone would suggest that racing a car on a track would make more sense if you're trying to say your car has good acceleration, handling etc. and is good ALL AROUND.

Also when they test cars performance or not, do they not test them on a TRACK!!! It doesn't matter if i've driven a "fast" car or not.

 

I prefer a car that can do it all vs do one thing very well.

Have you ever driven or ridden in a car down a real track that has over 400HP? The skill is keeping it under control and getting the best possible time without planting it into the wall.

 

Comparing the skill required to run 4-second 1/4 to typical 11-14 second 1/4 is a little ridiculous.

 

Who was walking about 11-14 seconds? Put half these people in a 10 second car and send them down the track and they'd piss their pants and run a 12.0 anyways. But for the record I wasn't comparing them, I was just making a ocndescending remark to his arrogant statement.

 

its a matter of personal prefference. some people build there cars going straight and some want overall performance...some for a mix of both.

why does one style of racing make you so upset that you have to rip on it? And why the hell does someone's choice to not make a turn down the track matter?

In my opinion...if you like your car and its what you wanted out of it...thats cool and why judge anyone else's style or prefference. my .02

I'm not knocking noone, just as John said, he'd rather have a car that can do it all not just do one thing well. What sense does it makes spending a ton of money on modifying a car just to drive it straight for a few seconds.

My statement wasn't arrogant at all, the problem is you guys want to get offended because what i was mentioning is the truth. Like I said LOGIC alone would say to a sensible person that if they're spending money on a top dollar suspension, top dollar engine built for performance, lightweight components etc. you'd want your car to be a decent ALL AROUND fast machine. That's like me building a huge ass house and spending all sorts of money on furniture and such just to have one big room....it doesn't make sense

I do agree that some people just want to do the 1/4 mile and that's cool, i'm not knocking anyone who does so, but EVERYONE can't have penis-showing contests with their cars simply with 1/4 mile times......
