there are inline 8 cylinder motors, they were used back in like the 1930's, and yes the front of the car was pretty long. i believe there are also inline 10 and 12 cylinder engines, but those were used in old planes.

Well 408 stroker turbo for an LS1 fbody would run close to about 20 thousand and tranny rebuild and rearend. That would be about 1000rwhp+

Just to get to 600rwhp would be 8 thousand for just a tubro kit and stuff need to handle it.

Those are just guesses from what ive seen on LS1 tech but that w/o nitrous.

well spoon not to pick on your post but most ave 4's make about 135 that kind of the sweet spot for that market im not talking any specail models like svt mazdaspeeds or si's or stuff like that your everyday honda ford nissain mazda or whatever makes around 125-140 ... so ford is'nt a slwo pos just keeping up with the norm ..also your can't realy pick on ford , they've always tryed to keep up with what going on in the car world. i don't think its that most u.s brand are slow with tech i think they think that we don't car if we don't get new stuff they tend to give us eye candy stuff on there cars then the motor/chassie tech

but its rue they are realy slow to try new things that why there in trouble right know

Those two motors, and cars you are comparing them two are in two different levels. You should compare an average civic with a focus. not something with a K20 or B18 because brandnew those cars cost alot more than a focus.

But since when did ford care about 4cyl in the US? they dont, they are economy motors. Ford never designed them for hi-performance. The B and K series motor come from hondas racing tech. If you want to compare 4cyl fords to hondas go outside what we get in the states.

you are wrong...when the focus came out in the usa it was sold has on a level to compete with civics and the rest of the fast and furious scene.they even sold it with AEM sport packages and talked up how much aftermarket support it would have.

Have you been talking to "2000 Tran Zam" ?

He has the black one in Arizona with the 408/turbo set up.
