4000 cc displacement with 210 hp..thats 07 model.
honda s2000 has half of its displacement 2000cc with almost 240 HP (N/A Engine)
and pepole call V6 mustang is fast ?
so u tell me dohc vtec rocks or ford

Well lets start with the basics.

V6 Ford Mustang. 210 hp / 240 ftlbs with a 5800 rpm redline and a 9:7:1 compression.

4cyl Honda S2000. 237 hp / 162 ftlbs (laughable) with a 8000 rpm redline and a 11:1: compression.

So while the Mustang motor is just barley working. The Honda motor is working at such a fast pace to make any power (do to the small displacement) that it is almost at its brink.

You know what happens when a v8 (domestic car) does the same thing. It's called the 06 Chevy Z06. (v8 with 505 hp / 470 ftlbs with a 6800 rpm redline and a 11:0 compression.) That motor is also working and spinning as much as it's displacemnt is allowing.

So I am sure that if ford wanted (which there is no reason at all). They too can increase the stroke and compression to that of the S2000, Z06, or what not. And have a pretty stout little v6 car too.

How ever there is zero reason for it as the v6 Mustang is just a affordible, good looking, and reliable car.

^^^ Thats nothing new. I4 cars have always had to do crazy shit like that to keep up with big, hulking v8s or even beefy v6s. Spin obscene RPMs, oftentimes with ridiculous compression...and the new ZO6 is the end all in sports car with anythign even nears its class, currently - thats all I have to add about that.

Actually, the V6 F-Bodies beat the V6 Mustangs of the same year. Both motors have a lot of room to build on if you want to toss your money into something, however.

I never understood the point of dumb downed versions of sports cars. Im by far not a mustang fan and wouldnt even cosider owning one 5.0 or higher. But why would you make a sports car slower. They should have all just came with the v8 in them. If you cant afford the price of the more powerful ones then tough shit find a new car. its like making N/A rx7's, supra's, 300zx's and everything else that they made a slower version of.

haha I was going to say the same thing..

Also to the guy who said "Need2Speed guys flame v6's while TR defends them"... It's all about perspective. When Honda guys running 16's make fun of the 15.5 second v6 Mustang, thats where the domestic guys here step in and remind them what times they run, and who they're making fun of

Well, they made an N/A RX7 so you could drive it another few miles before the seals took a shit on you and the motor spilled its guts all over the road. Yeah, I know, I know...all the stories about RX7s being unreliable are false. Don't worry.

100% true.

Actualy a V6 f-body will only be slightly behind a stock Mustang GT.

Over on the board I frequent (f-body board). There is a guy with a nasty 6 cyl turbo f-body. Sometimes those fuckers can shock the shit out of you when you least expect them too.

As you said there is a lot of room to build on them. However you have to have the desire to do such a thing.

my point is that the v6 mustang is acceptable because its still a mustang either way.

on the other hand putting a v6 in a f-body is almost like putting a v6 in a corvette.
