Comprehensive and Collision coverage, combined with the State required PIP/Liability, is considered "Full Coverage" and you usually cant buy just Comp. without the Collision coverage....

I've had several windshields replaced and has never cost me a dime. One was punched from the inside, and the others were rocks comming off from other vehicles.

I would call your insurance company.

Right, I do about 90 Progressive policies a month. There may be some companies out there that will sell them like that.

Comp is "theft, fire, vandalism"
Coll is "impact with another object"

There is no such thing as full converge, I have been a 220 lic agent for the last 9 years, you can never have enough converge. (yadee yadee yaa)

Ether way, you can can't get a windshield fixed with only LIB.

It depends on the company. It can yes, but most of the time no it will not. Now, let say you are going to another company and they pull a clue report on you, it can show up as a at fault accident and they will charge you.

Your not really worg for paying it out of pocket. Don't forget the rates go up from loss ratios per year and glass claims count in that. The more claims a company has to take on the more of a chance are rates will go up. Insurance should be used for a catastrophe not for fun.

Usually, under the Comp protion of your policy, you will see a seperate 'Glass' policy limits, which is where they state no deductible.

I have Comp and Coll...and I average about 1 windshield every 2 years. I also drive about 40k miles a year (mostly highway). I've never paid for a windsheild, and my rates never go up.

Right now, I have 3 starbursts on the windsheild of my 4runner, nothing too serious. Just waiting for one to happen in my 'line of sight' before I get this windsheild replaced. (I have 105k on my 2003 4Runner)
