Ecotec 2.2's really are good motors
seen a new camry motor lock up with 40k on it cause the lady never changed the oil, she said she didnt know she was supposed to and didnt see anything about it in the owners manual....

my sisters 94 Toyota Celica. with the 7a-fe motor. hasnt had the oil changed in about 4k miles. only had 1 quart left in it. red the dipstick , oil level inst even readin on the dipstick, still runs perfect ..to redline in all. no oil light inless u take a hard turn in eiether direction. it has about 115,000 miles on it

when i worked at bill heard, a lady in a ecotec cavalier came in for an oil change(of course she was black). She hadnt had an oil change in about 22000 miles, she had tons of nails in her tires, and she had about 6 tire plugs in the sidewall of her front left tire. We took the valve cover off the car and the sludge had molded itself to the bottom of the valve cover. It looked like a brown valve cover. The motor was unsavable and she later traded it in for another cavalier....

2002 sentra with 85k....she didnt change the oil for about 9k...and wanted me to drive down to delray beach with her...i told her not till we changed the oil...amazingly it ran nearly as smooth with the 2qts of 9k oil as it did with the fresh 4qts
