i was saying the engine builders said for the hp gains from switching from gas to alky,,

the n2o stuff is what i read and people have said over the years on the net..i thought about it for a year of doing a n2o alky setup and just kept on reading about people slowing down when going to it.

Could be done, but use a smaller carb, even at 120% VE that carbs a little big.
At 120% VE at 7200 rpm your only flowing 880 ish cfm.
Is this street, all out race?
What cam?Heads?

oh i will say n2o likes the bigger carbs or what people say over sized carbs..car craft did a thing on this and the engine made more power as the carb went up while on the juice..i think the lost like 10hp n/a with the 1050 carb but gained 30hp over the right size carb they had for the engine..all carbs where pro tuned also by the way..i'm not sure if i got that mag still..

This is more likely from having a mismatched package to begin with, i.e. not adequete enrichment.

Take everything these magazines tell you with a grain of salt. This is why car craft, hot rod etc. have exactly 0 championships to date. Some of the stuff they're just telling us has been around for a while(longer than me, ima youngin)
My advice: Read every SAE paper you can get your hands on, develop your data accordingly, and refer to the mags for pure entertainment.

...Oh yea, it gives you cancer too...
Yea and I hear living next to power lines does that too, but I think I'll have more fun getting cancer this way, lol. Oh and another fact about nitromethane is if it doenst burn completely, you'll have formaldehyde coming out pipes, <fun>

Oh btw check my sig, I'm tring to recreate one of my grandfathers old racecars from the 60's for his 85th birthday ( I have exactly 1 year and 10 months to do it)

Default coincidence

Hi All,

I'm sorry this post is so out of date but I was just doing a search on the web for a totally unrelated matter and stumbled on this thread.

Now this is a serious coincidence for 2 reasons;
1) I'm the guy who invented, designed and manufactures the systems that were mentioned at the start of this thread
2) I'm about to visit Tampa at the end of the month

If anyone would like the full and genuine details about these systems and the growing number of cars that are either using them or are about to use one soon, then please visit the following forum;

http://www.technical-forum.com/nitrous-advice-forum/

A brief run down of what the system consists of is;
1) A pair of Pulsoids (our unique solenoids that I "designed" to be pulsed) per cylinder
2) An electronic control system that pulses the Pulsoids at high frequency and progressively increases the flow through the system, allowing as little as 200 hp to flow at the launch before increasing "smoothly" to the full jet power
3) Whilst the system can in deed flow up to 3,000 hp it has yet to be possible for the car to use more than an extra 1,000 due to other issues.
4) The system is simpler and easier to maintain and tune and multiple stage kits.
5) Although it doesn't (as yet) have self adjusting mixture control, it does have unique mixture adjustability and will soon have closed loop mixture control to compensate for any change in bottle pressure.
6) The car currently runs with 2 carbon fibre 15 lb bottles, which are mounted in a unique manner.
7) The quickest time the car has run over the 1/8 mile is 4.16 secs but it has much more potential once he gets a decent engine fitted.

A further coincidence is that we have a customer with a BMW that is about to fit a similar system who is based in Fort Laudadale, so you might get to see that system in the flesh.

If any of you guys would like a face to face chat about my nitrous systems, please get back to me and I'll see what can be arranged while I'm over your way.

Best regards

Trev (The WIZARD of NOS)
