awesome, my cousin's trying to get me to switch over; just dont wanna drive to st.pete and load the tahoe full of alky everytime i wanna drive it

i also only have a 6 or 8 gallon? fuel cell. alky would go thru half that on one burnout/stage/bottle pass

running juice and alky there is not much of a gain its more of a loss..from what i under stand.thats why u dont see pro mods and 10.5 cars run alky

but in a n/a engine alky makes 7hp per ever 100..so if your engine makes 1000hp n/a on gas it will make 1070hp on alky..

now with alky u have to run a lube in it or u will dry out your seals and your cylenders will rust..alot of people will spray wd40 or somthing down the carb and kill the ignotion and just rotate the engine when putting the car up..u also will run cooler but u burn twice the amount of fuel as u would with gas...alky is around 118-120 octane depending on where u get it from.

Sorta...Your average blower peice wouldent make 1200 on gas, but will make 3000 on alky.

And a prostocker wouldent run 8's if you put alky in the tank, ask Glidden

Alky has much more potential in that you could build a package around it.
In a proper alky peice everything is different, for the chamber design to piston/quench design to camshaft to rings, even the finish in the ports make a difference.

As far as Nitro goes, any amount above 2% will require jetting change, and NEVER run it with gas. If your intrested in actually running it I have a tuning/mix chart that has about every variable included. (almost) The bad thing about nitro is that its very load dependent, meaning it doesnt like to idle and a damn gear change can be a 500hp difference...Oh yea, it gives you cancer too...

if u talk to any engine builder they will tell u that u gain 7 hp with ever 100 u make on gas when going to alky.i learned that when i was 14

and yeah n2o and alky isn't a great mix.u gain from the alky but lose in the n2o so its like almost breaking even but less then where u were..if i remeber correct most people lose like 2-5 thou..not sure though i aint looked into it in like 2 years but thats what it was i'm sure its probley still the same.

I dont know any engine builder(and I know a couple) who would make such a sweeping statement. Any builder worth his salt would have to analyze the entire package before making that statement.
People have been using Nitrous and alky with awsome power for years. Jack Barfield, who you mentioned in your earlier post, did this 20 years ago.(actually, jack is a biofuel engineer by trade an has ran on dogshit and lemonade, smelled great) The only problem is delivery. Alcohol carbs cannot flow enough air, plus you loose vacuum signal when you spray. And nobody uses it with mechanical injection because most cant tune the car properly without nitrous, and the n20 just makes things messy. Plus the cold nitrous and latent heat evaporation of alky can make for some broken exhuast valves and fuel puddling in the runners.

so.... a 200-300 shot would be good for a smallblock yes?
carb flows about 930cfm, 355ci
