Do you respect bikers?

why bikes split cars? cause they dont want to be anywhere near some of these morons driving 1 ton machines, while talking on the cell phone, refereeing their kids, eating, or any of that other shit people do instead of watch the road.
picture this: full gear on (textile jacket, helm, gloves, jeans, and boots) 98degrees in 5oclock traffic. now your already sweating you balls off on top of that you bike is at 225 degrees (kinda high and most bikes when they hit 230 shut off to protect itself.) you want to keep you and the bike moving to keep you and the bike cool. The light in front of you lets 10 cars through, and you have sat through the cycle 3-4 times already. you are very hot and dehydrated cause you have already been in traffic like this for 1 hour. What would you do
you guys are real quick to point out the bikers that weave in and out of traffic, but fucking a, i've had shit box hondas, suvs, trucks, and just about any kind of 4 wheeled vehicle want me to either race them or do a wheelie.
all kinds of people weave in and out of traffic not just bike. bikers get that rep for squeezing in between cars 10ft apart when our bike is 4ft long thats not a tight fit. for a car yes for a bike no.

i ALWAYS look out for bikes..out of the people i hang out with on a day to day basis im the only one without a bike..so im always keeping an eye out...i give them plenty of room if they want around i let them around..but i do this with other cars too...i just do the speed limit turn on cruise control and get in the slow lane..i just dont see why people can drive so carelessly with bikes around...i wouldnt be able to forgive myself if i killed a biker..
my friend got cut off the other day and he had to lay it down on southside of lakeland...he slid into one of those gargantulan curbs that are like 10 inches high..and then the bike slid into him...and pinned him down..but he didnt break anything and had minor road rash..and the bike is ok too..but he was also in full gear...the back of his helmet was really fucked up..

I'm with C4 on this one to an extent. At no time is it "OK" to split lanes between cars unless you're in danger like I was recently (at my own fault of course). Spliiting lanes at a redlight is not only dangerous, but it's not necessary.
In general bikes weave through traffic for a shitload of reasons. I've made it a point to stay ahead and not beside any traffic, because on uncountable occasions I've almost been sideswiped in normal traffic trying to obey the speed limit with these fucks on the road.
It's difficult to obey all traffic laws on a bike, near impossible with Florida drivers. The heat is unbearable in a leather jacket, helmet and gloves. I've been known on hot days to not wear my helmet on short rides to work. Im a big guy and sweating down my neck, into my eyes sitting in traffic dying of heat stroke is no fucking fun. It's not fucking smart to leave the helmet on the side of the road, but fuck, I'd rather be able to see then not.
I cannot stress how important it is to LOOK out for everyone on the road. I've had 1 and just ONE experience with a driver who almost merged into me, and in fact LOOKED over and saw me. Now I've become accustomed to staying 1-2ft back from the bumper or ahead of the car in the next lane(s) over from me, and watch their rear/front fenders for any sign of movement. There's a lot you have to look out for when on a bike opposed to a car.
I think it's made me a thousand times better behind the wheel of a car after being relying on the motorcycle for daily transportation for almost a year.

It was late at night and I was in a left turn lane waiting for the arrow. I was in the pole position, and no one was behind me. Dude on a bike rolls up behind, stops, and then passes by me to be in front. I'm like WFT!?! You couldn't wait behind ONE car? Do you honestly think I'm going to drive that slow? So I took it upon myself to show him I do not drive that slow. When we got the green arrow I lit up the tires and kept 'em smoking through the whole turn and a little in to the straight, no more than 2 ft off his rear tire the whole time. He actually turned his head around in the turn and it was almost like deer in headlights. The whites of his eyes got REALLY big. I dunno, maybe he got skerd. Doubt it, but maybe, just maybe he learned to be a lil' more patient.
Now that being said, I do have respect for most riders, and show it by giving plenty of room. However when someone intentionally is a dick to me, I don't let it fly.

You're lucky he didn't have any missles on him at the time. Most riders would have fucked your shit up. That was an idiotic move on your part.
